E già tra poco si inizia…cosa dire io amo Megaman quindi sono veramente FELICE!!!!
We’ve announced the Mega Man Board Game a few weeks ago, but since then, there hasn’t been a lot of new information. While we still can’t reveal everything, we wanted to put together a quick FAQ with the information available to the general public. As a reminder: if you read something from another source and don’t see it here, then it’s not confirmed or official information and should be treated as such!
Q: Wait, there’s a Mega Man Board Game?
You know it! The game is being created by Jasco Games, the publisher of The Universal Fighting System CCG. We have secured the license for Mega Man from Capcom and are making an official board game for everyone’s favorite Blue Bomber!
Q: What’s the relationship between Jasco Games and Capcom?
Jasco Games licensed and received approval to use the Mega Man brand, characters, and assets from Capcom. Capcom and Jasco Games are completely separate companies. We’re enthusiastic fans that know how to create great games, and we are committed to bringing an authentic Mega Man experience to tabletops everywhere.
Q: What’s this I hear about a Kickstarter?
You heard correctly. There’s a Kickstarter coming. Our plan for the Kickstarter is to help improve the game in its present state. By getting funding, we are going to be able to do more and really make the game we want to create, as well as be able to include more miniatures, expand the scope of the game, and use better materials. We also think Kickstarter is a great way to allow our fans to contribute to the development of the game. Your enthusiasm really gives us both the confidence and support we need to make the game exactly how we want it to be.
Q: Why can’t you just use those fat stacks of dollar bills you got from Capcom?
We didn’t receive funding from Capcom. The board game is being funded exclusively by Jasco Games and our Kickstarter campaign.
Q: How is the game going to be played?
While we are still waiting for Capcom to approve the final rules, we are planning on the following:
The game is going to be played by 2-5 players. Players will take turns as Mega Man (although future versions might change this and add additional playable characters). The objective is to beat all the Robot Masters, their stages, and then defeat Dr. Wily in his castle.
It is the job of all the other players to stop the player acting as Mega Man before he or she defeats the Robot Master. If Mega Man manages to beat the stage and the Robot Master, then you will gain his power.
We aren’t relying on dice to decide movements and actions; instead we’re opting for customizable decks of cards. There might also be expansions in the future, especially depending on how successful the Kickstarter campaign goes.
Q: When is the Kickstarter coming?
Q: Is Mega Man still coming to UFS?
Yes. In addition to the board game, Mega Man and Protoman have joined the roster of our Universal Fighting System. Rumor has it that collectible tins are coming to stores within a few weeks. Super sleuths may even be able to catch a glimpse of the tins in this image.
Q: What can I do to support the Mega Man Board Game before the Kickstarter?
The best thing you can do is invite your friends to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and join in the conversations. We know you’re as passionate about Mega Man as we are, and we want to share with your excitement (in respectful ways, of course).
